While on February 1, 2025, the Bari prosecutor's office in Italy issued 28 arrest warrants for the arrest of members of the "Troplini" clan in Shkozet, Durrës, as suspects in cocaine trafficking, in Tirana 10 days later, the shadow leader of this clan, Xhevdet Troplini, signed a contract for receiving a financial grant at the offices of the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development.

Troplini is known in Durrës as "Poja i Durrës" and was previously arrested in Italy for drug trafficking. While in Albania he owns dozens of properties and is considered by SPAK as one of the people with the greatest influence in the city of Durrës and the police administration.

The contract of this Grant with Protocol No. 200/5 is dated February 11, 2025, and was signed by Xhevdet Troplini, in the capacity of a Natural Person, and Ardita Kuçit, Director of the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture.

The commission that accepted Xhevdet Troplini's application, including H.Myrta, S.Hodaj, A.Caco and S.Harizi, are also signatories to this "Financial Grant" contract.

Through this contract secured by journalist Elton Qyno, farmer Xhevdet Troplini secured in February 2025 from the AZHBR fund the financial amount of 22 million and 577 thousand old lekë.

The purpose of benefiting from this financial value by Troplini is to purchase a tractor, as an investment in aggregates in agricultural mechanics for his farm, opened in March 2021 in Xhafzotaj, Durrës, where he breeds and raises animals and then sells them.

According to this contract, the investment received from the State Budget should have been implemented by June 30, 2025. This is not the first Grand Prize that Xhevdet Troplini has managed to win from AZHBR.

We recall that in 2006 Troplini was arrested for drug trafficking in Italy. The file against him in Albania came from the Italian justice system after wiretapping of him and several associates.

At the time, Troplini was accused of international drug trafficking.

Meanwhile, 3 days before Troplini's arrest in 2006, several of his associates were arrested in Bari, with a quantity of about 20 kg of heroin. The drug was passing through Turkey, Albania and then, to Italy.
