The Ministry of Infrastructure registered the state-owned company, which will provide public transport services, at the National Business Center. Through the creation of this company, the government decides to directly enter an important sector, which until now has been exclusively the domain of private companies.
Baptized under the name Mobal, the company will have as its object the operation of public road transport services for passengers, including tourist destinations. In parallel, the state-owned company will also offer transport for students and teachers.
However, Mobal will not only function as a service provider, but will also have many more competencies, including the organization, licensing and monitoring of public transport services according to applicable legislation. It will also develop and manage digital systems and applications for real-time monitoring and information on transport services.
According to documents filed with the Central Bank, the company's administrator has been appointed Henri Telharaj, who has until now held the position of advisor to Belinda Balluku. The company will have an initial capital of 10 million lek, disbursed from state budget funds, while it remains unclear which lines it will operate.
