The air transport market in Albania during 2025 has been characterized by a clear dominance of low-cost airlines, with Wizz Air and Ryanair holding the main weight of flights to and from the country.
According to the annual report on market share by airline, Wizz Air has been the leading operator throughout the year, with a share ranging from 63.67% in January to 46.40% in July, marking a significant increase again at the end of the year, to 58.78% in November.
In second place is Ryanair, which has maintained a significant market share throughout the year, with a peak of 26.09% in April and a strong increase in the last months of the year, reaching 24.33% in November.
Meanwhile, other companies such as Pegasus Airlines, Lufthansa, Air Albania and Aegean Airlines have maintained more moderate market shares, but with stable monthly presence.

During the summer season, a significant increase in charter flights is observed, reaching 7.61% in July and 7.40% in August, reflecting the increase in tourist flows to Albania. These data confirm the increasingly important role of the country as a tourist destination and regional air transport hub, with a particular focus on low-cost lines and seasonal flights.
According to the 2025 market share report, over 30 airlines, including scheduled airlines, low-cost carriers and seasonal charters, operated at Tirana International Airport. This diversity of operators is evidence of increased competition in the Albanian air market and the expansion of connections to European and regional destinations.
