The Council of Ministers approved the construction of a photovoltaic power generation plant and ancillary works, with an installed capacity of 95 MW. The plant will be built in cadastral zone 3204, in the Synej administrative unit of the Municipality of Kavaja.
"The operating period will be 49 years from the entry into force of this decision," the government decision states.
According to the decision of the Council of Ministers, the solar power plant is not subject to concession and as such does not benefit from the support measure of purchasing energy from the state, but will sell it on the free market.
The construction company of the photovoltaic park is Select Energy. This company is owned by 4 shareholders. Manjola Sulaj has 63 percent of the shares, Vasil Goçi and Avni Ponari own 15 percent each, while the remaining 7 percent is owned by Avni Braçaj.
According to the VKM, the construction period for the project is thirty-six months. The obligation for the producer is to provide, free of charge, in the form of a royalty, to the ministry responsible for energy the amount of electricity, at the rate of 2% of the annual production amount.
