The German banking group ProCredit, present in 12 different countries, will be led by an Albanian.
"Eriola Bibolli, member of the Management Board of ProCredit Holding AG, will take over the role of Chairwoman of the Management Board and CEO from Hubert Spechtenhauser as of March 1, 2026, as planned," ProCredit Holding AG announced.
ProCredit Holding is the parent company of a group of commercial banks focused on lending to small and medium-sized enterprises, operating in Southeastern Europe, Eastern Europe, Ecuador and Germany. Currently, the ProCredit group is present in 12 countries including Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Germany, Serbia, etc.
"For ProCredit, the opportunity to now fill the sought-after position of Chairman of the Management Board from within its ranks is a strong sign of its corporate culture and internal strength," explained Chairman of the Supervisory Board Rainer Ottenstein. "With the appointment of Ms. Bibolli, we have found the ideal candidate. Ms. Bibolli embodies stability, while driving an improved approach to digitalization, scalability and dynamic growth in general," he added.
Born in Albania, Eriola Bibolli studied business administration at the University of Korçë and began her professional career with the ProCredit group in 2001 at the ProCredit Bank branch in Kosovo. From 2007 to 2019, she held the position of Deputy General Manager and member of the Management Board before being appointed General Manager in 2019.
She contributed significantly to the successful development of the bank. In 2023, Ms. Bibolli became a member of the Management Board of ProCredit Holding AG. She has been active in ProCredit's target markets in Southeastern and Eastern Europe for many years and has gained extensive expertise in operations serving business and retail clients.
“The ProCredit Group has been my professional home for more than two decades and I am looking forward to my new responsibilities,” said Ms. Bibolli at the start of her term as CEO of the group.
