Apple device users now have the opportunity to make secure and fast payments through their phone, thanks to the launch of the Apple Pay service in Albania. "This innovation represents an important step towards the digitalization of the payment experience for a wide category of consumers," announced the Bank of Albania.
While Google Pay users already have experience with this form of payment, the inclusion of Apple Pay completes the spectrum of advanced mobile payment services in the country.
The Bank of Albania stated that it welcomes this development as an important contribution to the modernization of the payment infrastructure, increasing citizens' access to safer and more convenient services, and expanding financial inclusion through digital technologies," the BoA said.
Apple Pay offers an improved payment experience and increases the level of security in transactions, bringing direct benefits to users of the Apple ecosystem.
The Bank of Albania declared that it supports the banking sector in its commitment to being part of these initiatives and in building a more efficient, inclusive and sustainable financial system, in line with the objectives for the digital transformation of payments.
