The European Union Delegation in Tirana took almost three days to provide a very brief response to Kapital's interest in the issue of digital agenda funds. Below were the questions that Kapital sent to the delegation's office;
1- Has the EU taken any measures regarding the funds dedicated to Albania for the digital agenda after the arrests at the AKSHI?
2- If so, what measure has been taken? Freezing, interruption or suspension of funds indefinitely?
3- Has this decision been communicated to the Albanian government?
4- If such a measure has been taken, when can the funds be released again?
The following is the response from the EU Delegation office received this Friday.
'There has been no decision taken by the Commission to suspend funding. At this stage we have no further information to share with you.'
Kapital is publishing the full, half-hearted response from the Delegation Office, which only denies the interruption, but does not answer the question about the freezing of funds, contenting itself with the answer that "we have no other information that we can share with you."
However, Kapital will publish with maximum interest any disbursement of funds for the digital agenda that the EU will make on behalf of the Albanian government in the next three months. Even if it is just one euro cent.
