The National Territorial Council decided to revoke the construction permit for Embassy Tower, the 47-story tower next to the US embassy.
Planned to be built by businessman Fatmir Hanxhari from Vlora, who was suspected of being a mere prestanome in this case, the 47-story tower will now definitely remain on paper, as the KKTU has decided to revoke its permit at its last meeting.
The Technical Secretariat of the KKT has not given a reason for revoking the permit. Therefore, it is not known whether the cancellation of the construction of the 47-story monster is related to the SPAK investigations, or to security issues, given that it was built next to the US embassy, significantly compromising the security of the most important diplomatic headquarters in the country.
But as one monster falls, another rises powerfully. At the same meeting, KKTU approved the construction permit for the erection of a 45-story tower in Bllok, at the former Vodafone. The beneficiary of the permit is Roen Company, which is owned by businessman Rreoland Jegeni.
Appearing as an opposition figure and beneficiary of a concession in the Democratic Party government, Jegeni now seems to have found connections with the government by managing to obtain permission for a 45-story tower in the heart of Tirana, in one of the busiest areas with construction.
In the past, in meetings organized by the opposition, Mr. Jegeni complained about the business climate and the government, but now it seems that the climate has improved for him as well.

Rreoland Jegeni is the legal owner of the insurance lien concession, a business with a profit rate of up to 80 percent granted during the Democratic Party's government, for which there were later accusations within the party among Democrats.
The erection of the 45-story monster in Bllok is the next knife to be stabbed in the heart of Tirana, one of the areas with the highest density of buildings and population in Europe.
