
Foreign citizens purchased 253 million euros worth of property in Albania in the first half of this year, setting a new historical record, according to data released by the Bank of Albania.
According to the BoA, compared to the first half of last year, property purchases by foreigners in Albania increased by 37.5 percent.

Real estate has become one of the main items of foreign investment inflows. According to the BoA, in the first half of the year, for every three lek that came in as foreign investment, one lek was in the real estate sector.
Data shows that if investments in real estate purchases maintain the pace of the first half of the year, Albania could reach half a billion euros in foreign investments in real estate this year. These are investments that are not limited to the purchase of apartments, villas or land, but also include investments in the tourism sector.
