After the looting comes the mockery/ The government will conduct a feasibility

After paying 26 million euros for the Elbasan incinerator concession, the government will now spend more money to conduct a feasibility study to determine whether the incinerator is worth building. The news was made public by the Minister of Environment, Sofjan Jaupaj, in parliamentary committees.

"The Ministry of Environment, through the French Government, has been allocated funding to conduct a feasibility study and evaluate the waste treatment plant in the Elbasan region. To look at all the technical elements that are also mentioned by the management company of this plant, in order to then come up with a final result regarding financial support for the repair element. This study will begin in January and will also be carried out through field visits and inspections for this element", responds Minister Jaupaj.

The Elbasan incinerator was built first in the triple saga of the great incinerator corruption affair. It passed into the ownership of the Municipality in 2021, but has not worked a single day since. This is because the concessionaire Albtek Energy built a defective shack assembled with pieces of junk from the 1960s found around Europe.

But after the looting has been accomplished, now the time for ridicule has come. After paying hundreds of millions of euros, Albanians will pay more money, not only for studies, but also to find a new solution for garbage.
