Finnish startup Wolt, part of the American food delivery company DoorDash, expanded its food delivery service to the city of Fier, announced on Friday the general director for Albania and Kosovo, Lisandri Dragoj.
Wolt's services are now available in five cities in Albania, Dragoj said in a post on Linkedin.
The company began operations in Albania's capital, Tirana, in March 2024. The following year, it expanded to Durres, Vlora, and Shkodër.
According to its website, Wolt plans to launch its service soon in the central city of Elbasan.
Wolt appointed Dragoj in April last year, with a focus on expanding across Albania and Kosovo. In Kosovo, Wolt covers the capital Pristina and Ferizaj, in the south, and plans to expand to three more cities.
Wolt, headquartered in Helsinki, was founded in 2014. The company was fully acquired by DoorDash in 2022.
