Former deputy director of AKSHI disappears, police launch search after family

The family of the former deputy director of the National Information Agency, Daniel Shima, have reported his disappearance to the police today.

The news was reported to MCN by police sources, who report that family members have lost contact with Shima since this morning.

According to family members, Shima sent a message to relatives, informing them that he was being arrested, but after this moment, communication with him was cut off.

Earlier, Shima was summoned to SPAK to be questioned regarding the tenders of the National Information Society Agency (AKSHI).

Meanwhile, according to News 24, police are seizing security cameras in the area where Shima is suspected to have been, in order to shed light on the circumstances of the incident.

Daniel Shima held the position of Deputy Director of the National Agency for Public Procurement for some time, a position from which he left in 2024, an act that was commented on in various media outlets as being related to investigative procedures for the National Agency for Public Procurement's procurements.

In July 2024, former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj stated in an interview that Daniel Shima had been threatened, but without specifying what.

Daniel Shima also appears as a shareholder in several companies.
