It is not known which company is the plaintiff and in which court it has sued Air Albanian. However, the media recently reported that one of Air Albania's aircraft was seized in Istanbul by the lessor company Etihad at the beginning of last month due to non-payment of rent.

This is the latest news that shows that the Albanian flag carrier may be in its final moments. Although Air Albania has recently launched a media campaign to improve its image, data coming from other sources shows that its financial situation is very difficult.

A few days ago, Ljubljana Airport announced that Air Albania had canceled Tirana-Ljubljana flights due to financial difficulties. Meanwhile, this Wednesday, news of the lawsuit for non-payment of aircraft leases was made public.

Air Albania has been at the center of public debate since the company offered Prime Minister Edi Rama a personal charter for his travels, through a non-transparent agreement. The Prime Minister himself has stated that the charter did not cost Albanian taxpayers a single cent, as Air Albania made the plane available in exchange for image services that the Prime Minister provides to the company.
