Albania is rapidly becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, and anyone who visits the Green Coast immediately understands why this country is a hidden treasure.
The pristine shores of the Ionian Sea are where Julius Caesar landed in 48 BC, before crossing the Llogara Pass. This is where Green Coast Hotel-MGallery Collection, the first luxury boutique hotel of the MGallery brand in Albania, is located.
“Travelers are looking for a sense of belonging, authenticity, generosity and connection to the place,” said Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel and MGallery. These are brands that operate under the Accor hotel chain, with which the BALFIN Group has collaborated precisely to bring a hotel like Green Coast Hotel – MGallery Collection to southern Albania. “Each hotel under the MGallery brand is intended to be an open door towards understanding and discovering the place where it is located.”
Rooms
Elegance speaks for itself in every room, the total number of which is 131, including suites, the most special of which is the Presidential Suite.
The harmony between the earthy tones of the walls and the soft cream-colored furniture perfectly reflects the country's ancient cultural heritage, dating back to the Roman Empire, as well as its status as a modern travel destination.
As soon as I opened the door to my room, a sense of sophistication and comfort washed over me, which was further enhanced as I sank into the soft sheets of the king-size bed. Something worth mentioning: Every morning you are offered the opportunity to step out onto your room's balcony overlooking the Ionian Sea, enjoy a coffee and at the same time the magnificent landscape, with Corfu and Italy clearly visible on the horizon.
SPA A
vacation is not complete without taking care of yourself, and here, you'll find a luxurious wellness center, spread over five floors and overlooking the sea, where you can enjoy a personalized range of treatments and therapies. Whether you choose to relax in the sauna or take care of your hair... The team of professionals will instantly provide you with a sense of relaxation.
After being welcomed with a herbal tea, I experienced a relaxing massage that made time stand still, while the facial treatment, extremely relaxing, although deep, gave my skin a noticeable glow. Given that Green Coast is surrounded by a Mediterranean landscape, it is not surprising that all the products used are natural, in addition to the fact that the latest technology is used for skin care.
Unique Experiences
One of the Mediterranean's most underrated destinations, with the coastline as the main feature of the Green Coast... Is there a more beautiful way to enjoy it than from the sky, by parachute? I started one of the mornings with a gourmet dish, while the sun rose over the mountain peaks. It didn't take long to get dressed and soar above the blue waters and rocky terrain.
The feeling was unrepeatable, I felt like I had wings... After landing on the ground, I decided to raise a toast to this adventure of mine, next to the sculpture "Caesar's Coin", which really makes you feel like you've traveled back in time.
Another alternative to explore the Albanian Riviera is to sail on one of the hotel's boats and head to the Pirate's Cave where, according to legend, mermaids rested on the rocks, as well as the UNESCO-protected Gjipesa beach.
Although the shore of Gjipesa beach is full of rocks and therefore difficult to reach by car or on foot (3 km from the road), once you lie down on a towel and dive into the crystal clear water, it's easy to understand why it's considered one of the best beaches in Europe.
If you prefer comfort over adrenaline, grab a book and relax on the beach, or relax in one of the lounges by the crystal-clear pool, just steps away from Vela Beach Bar.
