Rinas will be the first airport in Europe without passport control.

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that the "Mother Teresa" international airport in Rinas will be the first in Europe where passengers will enter through a digital gate, without being subject to document control.

"Another beautiful innovation that we are preparing is entering Albania from "Mother Teresa" airport without any stops and without passport control, but through a digital gate, which only requires your appearance to verify your identity, electronically linking it to your ticket and your data," Rama said in his podcast "Flasim'.

According to the head of government, this will make Rinas the first airport in Europe with a digital gateway. "This is thanks to the blessing of digital technology, which enables developing countries to make epochal leaps that would otherwise be impossible," Rama continued.
