The price of oil rose again this Thursday, reaching 215 lek per liter. But despite this, the government reiterated its position that it has no intention of reducing any taxes from the record burden it has imposed on fuel. The only new thing this time was the threat of traders with a board by the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi.
"We are dynamically following the fuel market, what is happening in the region, there are different models, we do not have a decision-making board. This board is there and can be created by a decision of the Council of Ministers. The mechanism is there, it can be established by a decision of the Council of Ministers. We have assessed that with messages through the interest group, they will understand the importance themselves. It is there, it can be established very quickly."
According to the Minister, Albania will not have problems with oil supply due to the Strait of Hormuz.
"We are looking at it in dynamics, because the product today has two elements that are seen in times of crisis. The first is whether there is a shortage in the market and from the information we have, the Strait of Hormuz does not pose a supply problem, because over 90 percent of the supply comes from other routes," said the head of Energy.
